Most of my equipment is used and 20 years old or older.
It is the bare minimum for me to function effectively as a storm spotter and provide public service at large events. As time goes on and money allows, I would like to obtain better equipment to be able to provide more effective public service and eventually enjoy the hobby side of ham radio.

Ham radio operating frequencies are grouped into a number of frequency bands. As such, I am limited in the "hobby" side of ham radio because I have chosen to focus on the 2 meter frequency band where most local public service and disaster relief is operated in. I am also limited in public service/disaster relief because my maximum transmission capabilities with this old equipment is 10 watts.
